Ashes of Creation offers area quests, public quests, and quest chains that change dynamically and in real time based on the player’s experiences and choices.
Players will have the ability to directly alter world events and change the landscape through their actions, as an individual and as a community. Server quests will allow political rivals to compete for the fate of the world.
Quests are divided into 3 categories.
Narrative quests is the category where you will find storyline quests. A concatenation of quests where the prior quest might decide where your path will lead.
Narrative quests might be a simple way to teach you about the lore of the world, or they might give you your very own story experience. In Ashes of Creation narrative quests allow the player to take action and decide the outcome of his journey.
Narrative quests are normaly bound to a certain node and its progression.
If a narrative quest does not continue after you complete a single sub-quest of it, the follow-up quest might be locked behind the next node level.
Events are public quests that may have a major, and permanent, impact on the world. These events take place either on a local, regional or global level of scale.
If an event is completed successfully, players fulfilling the success condition might be rewarded.
However, if the success condition is not met, but therefore a fail condition is met, the outcome of this particular event might be negative.
Tasks are local quests bound to a node with the goal to support its progression.
To give every player the possibility to support the node progression, the type of tasks vary. Some require combat, whereas some other tasks require your profession to be used wisely, an explorational behavior or the will to gather certain materials.
